Quality case, a bit snug for the LX5
By Taylor
To be honest, I meant to order the next size up, the DF-408. This case (the DF-406) is 1cm less deep and is a bit more snug that I would like on the Panasonic LX5. If you just try to slide the LX5 in, the lens snags on the front lip of the case. You have to use your finger to help the front lip over the lens. You can also squeeze the sides of the case which makes the front bow out and then in slides in and out just fine.
Quality wise, it is very well made. Nice materials with a soft interior and good quality, large velcro patches for the front flap and belt loop. THe neck strap is a nice length. Very good camera pouch.

great quality, but a little pricey

This Kata DF-406 case is more expensive ($13 vs. $10), but almost exactly the same size as the Lowepro Ridge 30. I prefer the Kata’s single gusseted flap design to the zipper on the Lowepro. My Nikon P6000 compact camera fits perfectly in the Kata DF-406′s main compartment and a spare battery and the camera’s remote control fit in the small front pocket.
Note that the Kata has a velcro-release belt loop, which may be a little too quick-release for energetic sports like mountain biking. The Lowepro has a more secure, but less convenient, sewn belt loop that you have to thread your belt through.
